Thursday 5 PM Tropical Update: Alberto inland over Mexico and two others areas to watch
SUMMARY: Alberto has disbanded into remnants, but South Texas and Northern and Central Mexico will experience significant rainfall leading to inland flooding and landslides, particularly in mountainous areas. Coastal flooding is receding, with high tides likely peaking mid-afternoon tomorrow for the eastern coast and early morning for Grand Isle and Venice. No warnings are currently issued, just advisories. Furthermore, two potential tropical developments are being monitored, with one potentially affecting Mexico and South Texas with heavy rain. Another, named Invest 92, is expected to move towards the Jacksonville area or Savannah but will eventually shift away, posing no immediate threat.
Chief Meteorologist Chris Franklin says as Alberto moves inland, our focus now turns to 2 other tropical waves.
Tropical moisture still producing heavy rain mainly across central and northern Mexico as Alberto moved inland. Large windfield from the storm is still present over the Gulf, but will continue to weaken.
Both the GFS and Euro are sniffing out some potential tropical development, once again, in the Bay of Campeche or SW Gulf this weekend. This would be in line with activity stemming off of the Central American Gyre this time of year. Models have been consistent over the last several days to move the low almost in the exact same location as Alberto on Monday of next week.

Ten Commandments. Multiple variations. Why the Louisiana law raises preferential treatment concerns | KTVE
SUMMARY: A new law mandates that a specific version of the Ten Commandments be displayed in every public school and state-funded college classroom in Louisiana. This version ties back to the 1956 film “The Ten Commandments” and is similar to Protestant renditions. Critics argue the law violates religious freedom and the principle of church-state separation, prompting a lawsuit. The law, signed by Republican Gov. Jeff Landry, is seen as part of broader GOP efforts to influence public schools with conservative Christian values. Scholars and religious leaders express concern over its theological and historical accuracy, noting its political motivations.
