SUMMARY: Today, local nonprofits gathered in St. Rock to celebrate youth with a community event, “Youth Day Nola,” initiated two years ago in response to rising crime. The event, aimed at showing love and giving back to the community, music, prayer, free food, prizes, games, and interactions with social organizations offering vital resources. Notably, the park, once a crime scene involving teens, was chosen to help restore community spirit. Organizers and local leaders believe these efforts help revive the communal sense and support young people, reminiscent of the pre-Katrina era's community bonds.
