City of Ruston is switching emergency alert systems starting April 1st.

SUMMARY: The city of Ruston is switching from the Code-Red emergency alert system to a new system called LINC-ALERTS on April 1st. LINC-ALERTS has been in use in Lincoln Parish for 7 months and now Ruston is adopting it. The system allows residents to receive emergency or weather alerts through voice message, texts, and notifications. What sets LINC-ALERTS apart is that residents can also choose to receive non-emergency notifications such as road closures. They can sign up for the system on the website lincalerts.org or through the Ruston city website.

Nine Salmonella cases in Arkansas linked to backyard poultry flocks, CDC says
