SUMMARY: This weekend offers plenty of family fun in the Lake area. The Crescent Circus Experience, featuring award-winning magic and circus arts by Nathan and Morgan, will perform free shows in Lake Charles, Moss Bluff, DeQuincy, and Sulphur. The Summer of Wonder Magic Show at South Lake Theater supports the St. Nicholas Center for Children, with tickets at $10. The stables at Liage host an open house with food, games, face painting, crafts, and pony meet-and-greet on Saturday from 11 AM to 2 PM. Founded by Ryan Abshire in 2020 during the lockdown, the organization provides books, primarily to children, through donations, thrift store finds, and book sales. The initiative also promotes a sense of community and ownership among children. Since its inception, Read Free Louisiana has distributed around 12,000 books.
