SUMMARY: Summer break should be fun and relaxing for kids, but many kids lose access to free and reduced meals. Second Harvest Food Bank is helping to make sure these kids have enough to eat. In New Orleans, one out of every three kids doesn't have enough food. Second Harvest has joined the USDA summer food service program and has doubled their efforts from last year. They're now providing 8,000 meals and snacks a day to over 5,300 children at 80 different locations. Families can find meal sites on their website. They also need volunteers to help prepare and distribute meals and donations to support their efforts.
